Like last year and all the years before, it will snow in several US cities this December. Have your warm coats, hats, and gloves ready because it’s going to be cold. But if you hate the winter and the cold weather that comes with it, there is a way out.

There are more than 10 cities that don’t receive snow. And when they do, it’s barely an inch worth of it. So, get your smartphone out and prepare to book a holiday destination in any of the following great cities that won’t snow this Christmas. Here are our top choices:

San Diego, California

Often called the birthplace of California, San Diego boasts of beautiful beaches and coastlines. There are about 20 beaches you can visit in the city. The Coronado Municipal Beach has four viewpoints that display San Diego’s skylines and amusement parks.

The Pacific Beach is less populated and stretches over 3.5 miles, making it ideal for family strolls. Ocean beach offers surreal sunsets while the La Jolla Shores is where every surfer, scuba diver dreams to visit. Other beautiful places to visit in San Diego include the city’s zoo, the Balboa Park, and the USS Midway Museum.

Sarasota, Florida

There is an avalanche of fun activities you can do in Sarasota. From playing golf to visiting the John and Mable Ringling Museum, consider spending this holiday in the warm temperatures of Sarasota. You can participate in ballet or take part in Latin American themed festivals.

Hawaii

Hawaii is America’s biggest holiday destination for a reason. Beautiful coastlines, iconic mountain peaks, and surreal islands top the list. Most visitors flock to Honolulu but there are a lot of places you’d probably love to visit. Oahu’s North Shore provides great views as surfers compete around Christmas time.

For hotel rooms, consider booking your room in Molokai. The island is less developed and cheaper but provides scenic views and hiking parks. If you are a mountain person, visit the Na Pali Coast beach and view the gorgeous landscapes filmed in the Jurassic Park movie.

New Orleans, Louisiana

Let’s face it. All the best parks and attractions sites are usually packed in December. Prices are often double the average and you probably don’t want to spend your holiday in crowded places. New Orleans provides a different kind of thrill for those escaping snow. Enjoy Jazz music with multitudes of jazz fans in the iconic streets of the city.

Tucson, Arizona

Two hundred and eighty-six sunny days and zero inches of snow per year make Tucson one of the best places to live if you hate the winter. The city hosts a famous annual event known as the Downtown Parade of Lights. The day is held sometime before Christmas and only lasts two hours. But before then, you can enjoy scenes at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. The Kitt Peak National Observatory is also a great place to visit if you love science and astronomy.
