If money grew on trees and anything was possible, we all would be at the spa every day, lavishing in top of the line massages and having a personal assistant to take care of stressful errands.  But since we aren’t a multimillionaire or famous movie star, how can we take care of everything life throws at us AND be expected to take care of our mental selves on a budget?  Here are some ways to self-care the crap out of yourself and still have it fit into your life.

Self-Care Power Hour

How often do we analyze how our hair roots need touching up or look down at our toes wishing we could paint on some cute polish?  Dedicate a self-care power hour (or two) within your week – take care of all those little things to make yourself feel your best. The confidence will shine through giving you new energy to take on anything. Schedule this time within your week instead of vegging in front of the couch and you’ll give yourself a boost.

Friends

Friends’ Spa Night

Friends can be the best support system, especially when life gets messy.  Invite some friends over, have them bring their favorite wonder beauty products and try something new.  It can be their favorite mask, face washes, makeup, or anything that relaxes them.  Get your laughs in, your stress out, and discover something new you love.

Rock Out, Classically

Do you have crazy deadlines and chores all while your house is crying out for a good cleaning?  One of the quickest ways to calm down and de-stress is listening to classical or instrumental music.  You’ll be tricking your brain into calm while taking care of business.  There are some really great playlists out there, even modern music turned instrumental that will do the trick.  Give your mind a little bit of a break from all the noise in your head and make the chores seem not so bad.

You Do You, Boo

When’s the last time you did something for you and you alone?  Taking time for ourselves is essential to our well-being and happiness.  If you find yourself constantly surrounded by people, noise, and other worldly distractions, you need quiet alone time more than ever.  We all need to hit the reset button and depending on how busy your life is, you might never get to be alone in your day to day.  Do something you love and set aside time to do it.  Crafts, playing music, sleeping – whatever floats your boat – give yourself the permission to do it.  It will save you time and energy in the long run by investing in yourself in the now.

Love Yourself

Try some of these to practice self-care and you’ll see the stress melt away (at least a little).  You’ll find the more you take care of yourself, the more you are able to give to others and that’s good for everyone.
