We are all noticing the temperature change. That means that summer is going to be here any minute. The rush to be physically ready for summer has already begun. While every body is a summer body, we want to look and feel our best. You can put many ideas into practice to help this become your reality. Every step you take to prepare for summer should be healthy and with your best interest in mind.

Relax

Getting the perfect health plan that everyone is doing and sticking to a grueling workout schedule is one thing that will hinder your progress. It stresses you out! Stress is the silent killer of progress. When you are stressed, so much in your body starts happening. You need to add some relaxing time into your master plan. When you take the time to decompress, you will see more of your desired results. You also need to give yourself a break and realize that drastic change will not happen overnight. Appreciate all the progress that you do accomplish.

Healthy Foods

Eating right does the bulk of the work when it comes to shedding those extra pounds. This can look different for each person. Some can follow a meal plan easily, while others struggle. Eating healthy is not a one size fits all situation. If you are going to stay on track with eating right, you need a plan that you will be successful on. Anything that brings more anxiety or leaves you not wanting to eat is not the right thing for you. Maybe you need to build upon the healthy meals that you already enjoy. Cycle out the unhealthier foods and bring in some new ones you will look forward to eating. Anything that is not simple or enjoyable is not a plan that will last long term.

Move

Get up and move. The more you move, the better you will feel. Just like an eating program, an exercise program can come in many forms. Maybe you are just starting, and going for long walks each day will be pushing you. Or perhaps you have target areas you want to tone and want to find a program that focuses on them. The only warning is to set manageable goals, to begin with. If your plans are hard to reach, you will quit before you see the progress you want. The more you move the better you will feel, so take every opportunity to get up and go.

Celebrate

No matter how you look on the first day of summer, celebrate. Celebrate all the work you did this past year to be just the way you are. Every step you take to make positive changes in your health matters. No two paths will be the same. We all need to give ourselves the kudos we deserve for all the effort we have put forth. No action is ever worthless when it is focusing on bettering ourselves.

Every body is a summer body!
